Once upon a time,
upon a riddle,
and twice upon a rhyme,
in a hippie bedroom around
the corner, there was this weird guy.
He wrote a story about a cool blue
mushroom candle. How he watched it fry!
It turned into an angel.
It was him, but it was not.
And this was no angel
though winged
standing amid a scarlet sky
with two shadows.
This was a dark thing,
a creepy thing,
born only to spread demon seeds.
And so in a tear,
in a dream,
in a bottle,
somewhere on the other side
of the paper,
there is a man like me.
A man named Purple,
chasing dreams.
Into madness echoes scream,
"Tonight was born a dark hippie!"
Once upon a time, upon a riddle, and twice upon a rhyme,
in a tear, in dream, in a bottle, somewhere on the other side
of the madness, a man like me - the dark hippie.
