That One Band

ALTERNATIVE'S NOT AN ALTERNATIVE ANYMORE (2:52)
lyrics and music by Josh Spurling

Went to all the bars and they made us go away. Said we had to have talent to come there and play. But it's too hard to learn to play guitar. We just wanna be big rock stars.

And then along came this new music revolution. Freedom to suck's in our constitution. We don't have no talent, but that's okay. People still love to hear us play 'cause we're a grunge-rock band. We'll obey your every command. We'll follow your fashion to a tee. So they'll play us on X-103.

Follow the herd and don't make a peep. Just buy our albums like mindless sheep. We can't even tune our own guitars. If we just pretend, we'll go really far.

Thank God for this new music revolution. Now we can afford the drugs we're abusin'. Follow the formula and you'll hit Top 4. Alternative's not an alternative anymore.

I mean open your eyes, people. Havin' talent is as dead as being drug-free. All you need to do is play two or three power chords and sound like Nirvana as much as possible. Why spend those long hours practicing when you don't have to? C'mon, wouldn't you sell your pride to be a big pompous rock star?

Thank God for this new music revolution. Freedom to suck's in our constitution. We don't care if it's good or bad as long as we cash in on this short-lived fad.
